Hello, everyone! I’m Merin Young Barrett, the Year 4 co-teacher, with 19 years of experience in teaching upper primary school. Originally from the USA, I earned my bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from the University of Arizona. For the past 18 years, I’ve been teaching in Malawi, known as ‘The Warm Heart of Africa.’ My goal is to foster a safe and inclusive classroom where every child’s needs are met. Joining me at Sekolah Buin Batu are my husband, Dan, and our two children, Jack and Ellie. We’re thrilled to engage with the community here and explore Indonesia. In my free time, I enjoy running, hiking, and traveling. I look forward to contributing to the growth and development of our students, creating a nurturing and inspiring learning environment.
