SBB’s approach to Physical and Health Education is designed to invigorate students’ physical, social, and mental well-being through dynamic participation in a diverse range of activities.

Our overarching ambition is to cultivate a comprehensive perspective on health and wellness that embraces every student, regardless of their physical abilities.

From the youngest Kindergarteners to the seasoned seniors in Year 12, all students actively engage in Physical and Health Education to nurture their holistic development.

In a thoroughly designed approach to learning and progression, students from Kindergarten to Year 12 are guided from beginner to advanced levels in various sporting contexts. Typically, Fundamental Movement Skills take precedence in teaching and learning, especially in the Early Years and Primary Years classes. As students advance through the Middle Years and High School programmes, we introduce more intricate sports and learning opportunities within the health context.

With our new state-of-the-art Athletic Centre and Double Court Air Conditioned Gymnasium, students at SBB are provided with cutting-edge facilities and instruction

Participating in school sporting competitions offers numerous benefits to students. Firstly, it promotes physical fitness and overall health, encouraging regular exercise and healthy habits from a young age. Additionally, it fosters teamwork, leadership skills, and sportsmanship as students learn to collaborate, communicate, and respect their peers and opponents.
 
School sporting competitions also provide opportunities for personal growth, boosting self-confidence and resilience through both victory and defeat. Furthermore, they create a sense of belonging and school spirit, strengthening the school community and fostering positive relationships among students, teachers, and parents.
 
Each term students from Year 7-12 have the opportunity to participate in International Tournaments throughout Indonesia. We are in process of entering into The Small International Sporting conference, whereby students have the opportunity to participate in the following sports all across the Archipelago:
 
– Basketball
– Volleyball
– Badminton
– Swimming
– Soccer
– Cross Country
 
National students also get the opportunity to  compete in the O2SN regionals, and potentially national competitions. 

Our community swimming club is designed to provide students and families with an enriching and enjoyable swimming experience beyond regular school hours.

Led by parent volunteers, the club offers a welcoming environment where students can develop their swimming skills, foster friendships, and stay active outside the classroom.

The swimming club, adhere to strict safety protocols and ensure that certified lifeguards are present during all swimming sessions. Additionally, our parent volunteers undergo training to ensure they are well-equipped to oversee swimming activities and provide assistance when needed.

Participation in the community swimming club offers numerous benefits for students, including improved fitness, enhanced water safety awareness, and the opportunity to compete in local and regional swimming events if they wish to pursue competitive swimming.

As a parent-run initiative, we rely on the support and involvement of our school community to make the club a success. Whether you have experience in swimming or simply a passion for supporting our students, there are various ways you can contribute, from assisting with coaching to helping organize club events.
