Hi, my name is Intan Faradita, and I am proud to call Sekolah Buin Batu my new home. I have been teaching for 7 years and this will be the beginning of my 8 years of teaching. I never knew that I would become a teacher because I always wanted to become a flight attendant so I could fly around the world for free. And now I am excited to teach Y1 children this year! Even though I have grown to be what I never thought I would be, I enjoy teaching kids and helping them to learn and grow. It’s always been a wonderful experience to be with kids. Their energy and cheerful hearts are very contagious. I went to Satya Wacana Christian University, Salatiga for my undergraduate study. I have a bachelor’s degree in English Language and Literature (English Education). When I am not teaching, I enjoy singing, making music, playing the instruments (I can do guitar, piano, ukulele, but never been a pro), and cooking. I also love to go out in nature, enjoying the breeze under thousands of trees. I lived in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, teaching underprivileged kids ages 7-12 in the suburbs and helping the school to raise funds. Even though it was a very challenging situation teaching in the suburbs, because of the lack of resources, transportation, water, and very poor sewage facilities, it was still a wonderful experience to help students to learn, and share about many things outside their world.
