Welcome to Amman Academy.

The school embodies a nurturing community of eager students, dedicated teachers, and a wonderful support staff.

Amman Academy commenced operation in July, 2008 on the island of Sumbawa, Indonesia. It was previously known as Sekolah Buin Batu. The school specifically serves the dependants of employees and contractors of PT Amman Mineral Nusa Tenggara’s vast copper and gold mine here, known as the Batu Hijau Project.

Although the school is relatively new, it is the amalgamation of two pre-existing schools – Sekolah Nasional Buin Batu (SNBB) and Batu Hijau International School (BHIS). SNBB was established on 17th January 2000 in Townsite and BHIS in 1998 in Mataram. The staff primarily consists of Indonesian members complemented by expatriate teachers from Australia, Canada, India, Ireland, Malaysia, New Zealand, and the USA.

In January 2024, the school moved into a brand new campus with world class facilities.

Education and training is something we are very passionate about, both academically and practically our learning journeys should never end. We must take every opportunity life affords us to seek to understand more about what is around us and increase our knowledge and expertise. We are grateful to be given this opportunity to support the Head of Amman Academy, the teachers, the parents and most importantly the students.Amman Academy's facilities and programs provide our future leaders with every element needed for a highly successful learning environment. Strong foundations will be forged ensuring that when our students are ready for the next steps in their chosen life, opportunities will surround them everywhere they go and in everything they create.

Amman Academy is a wonderful place to gain learning experience. We like the way students learn together by sharing their thoughts, presenting their ideas and solving problems together. This helps our children to be more critical thinkers, active and productive. Our children also love the new library!

Being a student of Amman Academy for over ten years has taught me many things. The push for academic excellence and a supportive community shaped who I am as a student. The endless support from friends and teachers motivated me to push myself and do great things beyond what I thought I could do. I am forever grateful for the support from Amman Academy and it is an honor for me to graduate from such a great school. Amman Academy has prepared me well for my studies at Monash University in Australia, where I will be studying electrical engineering.
