Victoria Jones

Hello everyone! My name is Victoria Jones, and I have had the pleasure of teaching Visual Arts for over 30 years. I began my career in the UK, where I served as the head of department and head of Year in the secondary comprehensive system for 13 years. Seeking new experiences, I then embarked on a journey to the Sultanate of Oman, where I had the opportunity to start teaching the International Baccalaureate curriculum.

After my time in Oman, I continued my international teaching journey at the Jakarta Intercultural School and the Vientiane International School in Laos.

With a degree in Art and Music from Canterbury University in the UK, I am dedicated to creating a classroom environment where every student feels a strong sense of inclusion and belonging.  I encourage students to bring their curiosity and passion to their artwork. I facilitate opportunities for them to step outside their comfort zone, be creative, solve artistic problems and look at their work from various perspectives.

Beyond education, I have a passion for various artistic pursuits, such as running, painting, engaging in drama, or playing my clarinet, I find joy in expressing myself through different mediums. I also love sketching and capturing the essence of my travels around Southeast Asia in my sketchbooks. I am thrilled to join the SBB community and hope to ignite curiosity, passion, and purpose in all our learners.
