On Wednesday, June 12, the school held its Annual Swimming Carnival for students from Year 1 to Year 11.
The day began with the PYP Carnival. Students in the PYP participated in kickboard races, with some opting for freestyle. The highlight was the Year 5 race, where four strong freestyle swimmers competed for the top position. The carnival concluded with 30 minutes of free swim time, where students frolicked in the pool, enjoying themselves with friends.
It was heartening to see the growing enthusiasm of PYP students embracing swimming and aquatic activities as part of their PSPE classroom culture. As they move into the MYP years, students will have opportunities to represent SBB in swimming events throughout Indonesia. With continued dedication to improvement, they will have the best chance to succeed in the pool.
The Senior School event featured capable students competing in freestyle and backstroke events. Throughout the term, students have been training in swimming during PHE lessons. Many showcased their skills effectively during these races.
The team watermelon relay was a great success. Students representing their houses (Blue, Yellow, Green, and Red) worked together to transport a watermelon from one end of the pool to the other and back again. The Yellow team emerged victorious in both relays.
The event concluded with the Students vs. Teachers Freestyle relay race. Selected swimmers from Years 6-11 represented the student team against the teachers. Azima, Reza, Radit, Denis, Maya, and Safri formed a strong student team and were too good for the teachers’ team, which included Pak Michael, Pak Wawan, Pak James, Ibu Melissa, Ibu Nikayla, and Pak Zain. Next year, the teachers plan to put in extra training to reclaim the Teachers vs. Students title.

Karnaval Renang SBB
Pada hari Rabu, 12 Juni, sekolah mengadakan Karnaval Renang Tahunan untuk siswa dari Kelas 1 hingga Kelas 11.
Hari dimulai dengan Karnaval PYP. Siswa PYP berpartisipasi dalam lomba kickboard, dengan beberapa memilih gaya bebas. Puncak acara adalah lomba Kelas 5, di mana empat perenang gaya bebas yang kuat bersaing untuk posisi teratas. Karnaval diakhiri dengan waktu berenang bebas selama 30 menit, di mana siswa bersenang-senang di kolam renang bersama teman-teman mereka.
Sangat mengharukan melihat antusiasme yang semakin besar dari siswa PYP dalam merangkul renang dan kegiatan air sebagai bagian dari budaya kelas PSPE mereka. Saat mereka memasuki tahun-tahun MYP, siswa akan memiliki kesempatan untuk mewakili SBB dalam acara renang di seluruh Indonesia. Dengan dedikasi yang berkelanjutan untuk perbaikan, mereka akan memiliki kesempatan terbaik untuk berhasil di kolam renang.
Acara Sekolah Menengah menampilkan siswa-siswa yang mampu bersaing dalam lomba gaya bebas dan gaya punggung. Sepanjang semester, siswa telah berlatih renang selama pelajaran PHE. Banyak yang menunjukkan keterampilan mereka dengan baik selama lomba-lomba ini.
Lomba estafet semangka tim adalah kesuksesan besar. Siswa yang mewakili rumah mereka (Biru, Kuning, Hijau, dan Merah) bekerja sama untuk mengangkut semangka dari satu ujung kolam ke ujung lainnya dan kembali lagi. Tim Kuning muncul sebagai pemenang dalam kedua estafet.
Acara ditutup dengan lomba estafet gaya bebas Siswa vs. Guru. Perenang terpilih dari Kelas 6-11 mewakili tim siswa melawan para guru. Azima, Reza, Radit, Denis, Maya, dan Safri membentuk tim siswa yang kuat dan terlalu tangguh bagi tim guru yang terdiri dari Pak Michael, Pak Wawan, Pak James, Ibu Melissa, Ibu Nikayla, dan Pak Zain. Tahun depan, para guru berencana untuk berlatih ekstra guna merebut kembali gelar Siswa vs. Guru.
